Ben Simpson

Ben Simpson 19/10/1979 - 29/10/2005

It is with deep regret and sadness that I have to announce Ben died on Saturday 29th October, suffering heart failure whilst playing hockey. He was only 26. He joined us last season and played 13 games scoring 4 goals. This year he decided to concentrate on hockey and could not play for us but memories of him playing are still fresh in the mind and it is a sad loss to all those that knew him. Our sincere condolences go to his brother Joe and his family. Messages can be left on the forum.
The funeral service was at Beckenham Cemetery on Wednesday 9th November and was very well attended.
Collection Details. The Beckenham Cricket Club were looking to get a commemorative engraved bench in honour of Ben which £2000.00 already raised will easily cover. The Milburn squad including donations from Robbie T and Big Dave managed to raise £189.00 which will be passed on to Joe towards a possible 2nd (tree) memorial.

Unlucky bastard
